Typically, risk is the one thing any investor considers first and foremost before making an investment decision. An investor loses control of their money the minute it leaves there bank account and into the investment. But there are varying degrees of loss of control. Some investments require complete faith while others, the investment is in complete control of the investor even though the liquidity, the cash has left their account.
